Drow - Off Topic/Bickering

Read my post more closely. At the time of my post I was already aware of that (plus my main is drow and I have no intention of spending $200 on a some tatts and a racial background). Hence, the table flipping and the reason I won't be playing till 60 days after launch.

Ah yes, the "I love D&D, but if I can't play one race right away, I'm never playing this game" crowd. Welcome!

Usually cross-sections well with the "this isn't D&D, not even close and I know because I played Caves of Chaos once in 1981", crowd. AKA as the "D&D isn't about action or combat, it's a thinking man's game" crowd.

It's sixty days. You'll survive.

Or not, you can flip tables I guess and pretend this is the worst transgression since Pearl Harbor. Because you know, First World problems are so hard.

I have no sympathy for this. Sorry. None.

I'll be even more cynical, I wager many of the haters we'll see pile on, never had any intention of ever really financially supporting the game, or will actually come back and play when the game launches.

Look, don't play the game if you don't want to. I understand, I really do. But please, let's all stop pretending this is some massive violation worthy of tyrannical rage and fuming.

Or you know, crank up the nerd rage, and holler at everyone here how this is worse than Mussolini and kicking a puppy, because, 60 days is utterly outrageous and nobody should expect to have to wait 60 days for anything, especially if its free.

The real issue here is that regardless of what people thing about them--even the endless flood of Drizzt clones (which I also hate)--a huge segment of the population that could have been there at launch won't be there because of this boneheaded move to restrict the most popular race in the game till 60 days after launch just to make HotN pack buyers feel special about their overpriced purchase. And that will hurt the game's success at launch regardless of how people choose to feel about them.

It's 60 days, if you think this is going to destroy all chances of this game's success, I suggest humbly, you either had very little faith in the game to begin with, or you're not really a big D&D fan.

Either of these are fine. It's also fine you don't want to play, and also that you dislike the game. All valid reactions.

But I scoff that you have a better sense of how to manage this IP than Cryptic does. You know, they are a fairly successful company, maybe, just maybe they know what they are doing?

I don't know, we all play these games differently, but I marvel at role players who simply refuse to play anything but one race, one concept or the game is worthless to them. Really? Can't bend your preferences a little? You might like something new for a change!

Yawn, did I say that other countries don't have the same consumerism? Did I say it was a US only thing, I merely stated that is WAS a US thing. That does not preclude it being another countries thing too. It is a US company. If you want me to **** on other countries I can do it, but I am not really feeling it.

Please remember that while you are free to your opinions you must be respectful of others' opinions as well.

Tone plays and important role in expressing yourself and your opinions on the forums and that should always be considered when disagreeing with others. Insulting and degrading posts are just as much a violation of the rules as profane ones and will be removed or placed into the lower depths.

Seems to me you have been arguing and trying to subtly insult and degrade other peoples opinions in these forums because they don't agree with you, it's great that you bought a 200$ pack, there's no need for you to feel sore about it, as it is very obvious you are feeling..

For the record I am bilingual...it's nice to know you actually rooted through my previous posts to find something to troll/flame me with though. Not very clever though all in all.

No if I wanted to insult people I would do it blatantly just ask anyone around here. Also that is crap and you know it about the politics you are trying to be high and mighty. It was something said tongue in check get over it already. I don't feel sore about anything I think it is ridiculous that some people are basically shouting for blood over this and I am just as entitled to my opinion as you are to yours, except I didn't go after someone personally for their opinion, unlike you. You need a few lessons in human observation or reading comprehension, or perhaps I need some lessons in writing, because it is totally not clear to me that I am feeling sore, if anything I am feeling giddy. A little good scotch does that to me, ok maybe not a little.
