its really hard to refrain from saying what youre doing is trolling when you keep stating things that arent true, as if you only said them 3 more times it would somehow become true.
they arent selling classes in neverwinter, they arent selling races in neverwinter, theyre all free to play. why do you keep saying they are selling them? please show me your evidence???
perfect world bought cryptic last April. STO just had its 3 year anniversary... CO is even older. didnt you also just say its the same company and the same owners why would they do anything different in their new game? well actually its completely new management. so heres another thing you keep saying that again isnt true.
both STO and CO went F2P before PW was even in the picture.
Do i think PW is going to take the same strategies with a brand new game theyve molded during its creation as with a game they inherited and had nothing to do with the initial creation of? uh.. is that a real question? cause it really still feels like... trolling.

its good that youve cleared up for everyone now all youre doing is speculating, and are leaving behind all the untrue statements youve made earlier.
yes, your expert opinion as a pundit has been duly noted and is being duly ignored henceforth from myself; you lose credibility when your argument is that when a company changes ownership %100 that it makes zero difference on their operations, thats all i need to hear out of you.
cryptic will release more info when theyre ready and PW says they can in line with their marketing of this game. your interpretation of their withholding info on a game months before launch as a tinfoil hat conspiracy is ridiculous. but you can put your hat on just incase sweetie pie! *pinches cheeks*

02-19-2013, 03:08 PM #3You're putting words into my mouth. Re-read my posts. I provided in-game, accurate data as of BWE1. Then you continued to state (even in the paragraph above) that your information is correct. And apparently didn't read my reply to your post (which, by the way, didn't defend the game at all - just told you what the 2 million AD was for - a black variant of an armored warhorse). It's funny that lanessar keeps trying to claim that the business model is all out there in evidence, when the devs themselves have even said they're not ready to discuss the extent of their business model. Further proof that the stuff experienced in the beta so far is unreliable, the data such as 2 million ADs for a mount upgrade. That would require some 3 months of grinding. If lanessar is to be believed and it has no difference other than cosmetics, then that is absurd. The only constant report seems to be that the numbers are clearly all over the place, suggesting that any data taken from current beta is pointless. Unless you think that's their business model, to have stuff randomly priced...
As I said, no one but Cryptic or PWE can answer that. And again, I stated I'll hold my judgement til I see it.That also still doesn't answer the question of what they'll actually sell. If all the cosmetic stuff is in game for ADs, then what are they going to sell for Zen directly? They will not make enough money to survive on character slots and respec tokens alone. It is not reasonable to think that they will put only cosmetic items into lockboxes, as they will be asking us to spend cash for keys on that one too.
That's not necessarily true. Either way, I have never disagreed with your possible outcome. I never refuted it. You seem to think I am. I have no idea why. I won't fight your viewpoint on possible future, because no one can say that until it comes to be.The only logical options are selling gameplay affecting things in the c-store, and introducing gates and sinks for ADs to convince you to buy Zen to trade for ADs. This is what they currently do in their other games. It's a given also that they will introduce lockboxes with significant incentives to unlock hundreds of them at $1.25 each. So far, everything official the devs have said would be in line with using the same model as CO and STO.
You were being an jerk. I dealt with it politely a few times, but you obviously refused to read or understand what I was saying, and kept thinking I was offering anecdotal information. Even afterward, with deads6667 calling you "troll", I stated that I can understand being burned in the past, etc. etc.The sad part is that the both of you continue to take this to personal attacks, insults and straw-man arguments. It is clear you are not ready to have a reasonable discussion.
I was polite up to a certain point; you kept telling me about things which I relayed my experience on, told you about the options, and said "this is not true as of BWE1".
About the only time I changed my tune is when you said "well, you're violating the NDA, so I don't believe you", when all I was attempting to do was tell you what the 2 million AD was about, and that there were non-AD options which offered the same enhancement to movement speed.Last edited by ambisinisterr; 02-19-2013 at 07:59 PM. It amazes me that you two think you have any credibility when you continue to spout insults and epithets.
Firstly, being bought out by another company doesn't mandate changing your business model at all. Companies get bought, sold, or traded all the time without much change. Also, it's unlikely you would pay $50 Million for a company and then completely change the revenue model that made it profitable and worth buying.
Secondly, I don't even see any real rebuttal to my evidence.
You guys aren't really adding to the discussion, just calling names because you don't like someone's viewpoint.

02-20-2013, 07:45 AM #6To the two individuals above: I urge strong caution when making even a slight implication that the behavior in which starkillian is engaging might be considered either "griefing" or "whining". It is a certain way to get on his radar, and everyone in this community knows all too well what happens when someone gets on starkillian's radar.

Public Service Announcement
In case you have not been previously informed, permit me to remind you, using his own words, the consequences of being on starkillian's radar. His statement has been reproduced below.

02-20-2013, 09:07 AM #7Well, if this were a game in which griefing, cheating or hacking were possible I'd never meet him by not playing in the first place. The whining part can easily be dealt with: Ignore list.
Official Announcment
To Starkillian and all of his likes: I do not bow to threats. Much more formidable people attempted mind-fencing with me (also in real life) and lost miserably. I will never respond in kind: I'll just ignore you and walk my way, having great fun playing a great game with a great guild (that I will be looking for in OB / launch) as well as alone.
And if we ever meet in a PvP enabled zone feel free to do your worst: By entering I will have made it consensual.
Now that this matter is dealt with:

It is so sad the human condition that people denounce others and then complains that noone understands them. I have had run-ins with a few RPers, and some are accepting of a wider view. But so many think they are superior to others and judge based on flimsy stereotypical and hasty generalisations. Much like the actions of the stereotypes they profess distaste for.
They usually have a fallacy not only in Post hoc ergo prompter hoc, but also falls victime to Straw man fallacies, begging the question fallacies, reaction to the absurd, but most of all Either/or fallacies.
Now, I am hoping for a world without hijackers, trolling, and the likes. But I can't seem to escape them.Last edited by spellwarden; 02-20-2013 at 09:49 AM.

02-20-2013, 09:39 AM #10You just can't help thinking your OPINION is a fact can you? I would totally spend 3 hours trying to conquer an uber dungeon if it was well built and interesting. So I guess your "nobody" qualifier is totally incorrect because at least one person would, some people actually like a challenge and get a sense of fun from over coming something difficult. But that just doesn't compute in your world does it?
This is hilarious. You make a statement that is meant to make it sound like you have a live and let live attitude, but every time in every thread you talk about people who want to play in any way that is different than you, you use negative and demeaning terminology for their play style.
