Personally I hated the sorcerer when it was introduced in 3rd edition, wizards were suppose to be more powerful because of their vast array of spells but because sorcerers had the exact same spell list and no memorization requirements the sorcerers easily trumped the wizard and removed all thought into strategy and choice in spells, and that isn't even getting into the bad mechanics of 3rd edition (and please don't say Pathfinder is 3rd fixed because no it isn't, still same bad rules and horrible systems in play just reworded).
That being said with my little micro rant, I suspect Cryptic is going to get the prime classes in the main core book first before they hit the players handbook 3 (which is where the sorcerers are). That means rangers, paladins, warlords, warlocks and all the others will have a point up first before sorcerer gets put in, most likely. Races will probably come faster, but hopefully they will opt to not include the more ridiculous races in the later books, though I definitely want to see the Shifters.

there in player handbook 2 for starters.
everyone seems focused on both 3e and the dragon aspect of sorcerers. 4e allowed that they came from other events.
but the thing i want to focus on as a class in neverwinter is the Wild Magic and Wild Mage branch of sorcerey. Wild Magic allowed for alot of randomess and secondary effects to happen, wild mage even more so. this allowed for resistances to be random as well. also alot of acid based attacks, giving heavy damage and dot as well as alot of confuses.
you add the arcane power supplement you get two more branches, storm and cosmic.
im just saying theres alot to choose from that departs them from wizards now, and with cryptics premade builds there are options to be had. we have 2 fighter builds, one arcane, one religon and one stealth. there are plenty of things to create out of each one class. we will get sorcerer, eventually.
