They fixed the animation for Magic Missile, and it looks a lot better. Though in the case of the archer ranger they'll probably take cues from Legolas so yeah extreme archery.

I love my wizard, but every time I look at those two fingers up in the air, I can't help but to envision a rabid gynecologist and wait for the sound of latex gloves snapping against flesh.

I'm going to call my wizard Quagmire!

03-11-2013, 02:37 AM #54Hi all,
been watching this video on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...v=8vNMqSWF1aU#
(which i saw it mentioned in another thread below)
Does anybody see a problem with the animation moves?
From my perspective it looks like animations from another class, monk for example ?
Moving while in combat reminds a bit of bruce lee legendary style?
In overall not very wizzy style?
What you think?
P.S: personally i think the wizard combat animation doesnt quite fit, bit strange since thief combat animation looks greatcan't post in that thread for some reason...It helps if you check for previous topics on this. I refer you to:
Wizard's attack stance is not good
done not even a month ago.
Anyway, if you think the male wizard is bad, have a look at the female!. it really looks like she took a dump and it looks like its the same mechanics as the male, making the female look like a she-male, and thou that could be an option for not discriminating cross-gender-player, then i still belive that it is a really bad animation taking away the femine feeling of playing a female wizard. Please please please have a look at the Cryptic. You can change this quite easy and it would make a world of dif for the spellcaster fanboys and girls.
I for one, am using alotta time creating my char and making it just right so i can put all the playing hours into the char and not get tired of it, but all that fades if it's gonna look like my char had an accident every time she goes into combat.
I can only hope that this is a beta mechanic, and it would be great if you could confirm if it is or is not.
EDIT: for some reason the vedeo doesn't jump into 23m29s as it should, but there you can see the horror.
Best Regards:

A few specific requests:
- Please change the out-of-combat idle pose to one which is not embarassing to roleplay from. Imagine the character standing at the bar in the Moonstone Mask. Would we have a hand up in an arcane gesture? No, we would not.
- Please hook up a non-combat walk animation. I toggled on walk and moved forward with both hands raised. I'm fine with this animation in combat, but I would like a regular walk.
- Male and female animations for walking and running and idle stance. See, for example, the very fluid idle and walking and running animations for STO females. They're lovely.
- Ray of Enfeeblement: Any D&D player who regularly plays the wizard will tell you that Ray of Enfeeblement is GREEN. This is in every edition of the game. Please fix.

The spell-mastered version is green. Different colors are needed for group-play to know whether the effect can be stacked.

I'm digging the animations. Its like Mage Kata.
I should name my next Wizard, Kiara. Water Tribe!

Honestly, I like the martial arts feel of the wizards combat-stances and movements. The fingers are not well loved. But I always marvel at how rigid the minds of people are.
So you imagined that Wizards moved differently. Long bears, broken backs, and probably some spectacles. Can't have young energetic wizards?
Please, I know it is hard from personal experience, but try to judge something on it's own merits, not how much it confirms your expectations.

For the spell animations, sure. However, his combat idle and walking animations look like he has a broom shoved up his ***. That's not a "martial arts feel".
